Sleeping with a kitten
14"x9"x17", terracotta, oxides, 2008 It is a very realistic piece. One night, I was looking at my friend sleeping with Boris, my kitten on her head. I was amazed by the beauty and calm, by the flickering of street lights and deep shadows, and by its incredible balance. I just turned the picture and my feelings into clay and later, in 2010, into bronze. There is a quietness and a tension in this piece, a motionless yet alert representation of my feelings toward night in general.
