Playing with Shadows III

14"x8"x22", white clay,  2010

I’ve enjoyed playing with the lines working in this piece. I mostly followed nature with a bit of correction based on feeling. The idea of this piece came, as many others, from my childhood. We used to create funny shadowy creatures against the light on the plywood partition covered with wallpaper. To me, it represents a charming family atmosphere mixed with curiosity, laughter, and an effort to uncover some secrets of life. This is why I made this piece as a present for my brother’s wedding—to mark the creation of a new family.

"Shadows" traveled to Beijing, China in 2015 being a part of VI Beijing Art Biennial.
